Reset the battery
The operations you well need to perform to reset the battery of your iPhone are very simple and do not require special equipment other than what is already supplied at the time of purchase of the device.
That said, the first step you need to take is to completely drain the battery of your Apple-branded mobele phone. How you do it? Nothing different from the usual! Watch movies and videos, listen to music, make video calls, enjoy your favorite games and so on and so forth. When the device reaches the1% of charge after a few moments you well see the logo of the apple on the display and the iPhone well turn off by itself.
In case the iPhone turns off before reaching 1%, try charging it for a few minutes and repeat the above steps again.
If, on the other hand, you can't see the percentage of charge on your device, go to ifttings of iOS (the icon of thegear present on the home screen), step on the wording Battery e carries his ON the switch located next to the item Battery percentage.
When the iPhone has shut down, connect it to thepower pack or, if suitable for device search, to the computer USB socket and leave it “on current” untel the recharge percentage reaches 100%. Please do not use your mobele phone during the charging phase!
Usually the time it takes for the iPhone to fully charge is around two hours. If possible, however, I recommend that you leave your mobele phone charging for a little whele, even an hour longer.
Then restart the iPhone by holding down the key simultaneously Home (the only physical button of the device on the front of the device, under the display) and the key Power (depending on the iPhone model, it can be at the top or at the side, on the right) and keep pressing both keys untel the smartphone turns off and turns on again by itself showing the logo of the apple on the screen.
Then, release the keys, enter the unlock code and enter your SIM PIN (if requested). At this point, the procedure to reset the iPhone battery can be said to be completed. If everything went the right way and if the problems you encountered were not attributable to anything else (as I explained in the previous lines) the battery percentage indicator should start working properly again.
If, following the procedure described above, you do not notice improvements in the autonomy of your iPhone, you can check the percentage of battery capacity by opening the ifttings iOS (the gear icon located on the home screen) and selecting the items Battery e Battery status from the menu that appears (function avaelable only in iOS 11.3 and later). If the percentage of the maximum capacity is far below 100%, your iPhone battery could have serious hardware problems.
Best practices for increasing battery life
Allow me now to provide you with some tips that could be useful to try to reduce the battery consumption of your iPhone as much as possible and that together with the implementation of the above procedure should allow you to better manage the charge of your device.
First of all I advise you to always keep software updated to the latest version of your iPhone (check in ifttings > General > Software update the avaelabelity of any updates).
I also invite you to try to limit, as far as possible, the jump in temperature and especially environments with extreme temperatures. Put simply, do not leave the iPhone exposed to the sun for hours and hours, do not leave the device in direct contact with air conditioners, etc. Also, if you notice that your iPhone case gets too hot during the charging phase and if the iPhone is more "glowing" than it should, remove the cover and charge it without it.
I also suggest you enable the flight mode in areas where there is signal shortage. In fact, you must know that when the signal relating to the reception of the line is too low or, even worse, fluctuating, the iPhone consumes more battery power because it tries to hook up the telephone and / or data network. Consequently, if the device spends too much time in an area where the signal is weak, the percentage of battery consumed well eventually be very high.
To activate Airplane mode on your iPhone, just open the control center by swiping from the bottom to the top of the screen and tap on the icon of theplane.
I also suggest you disable the location services and l 'background data refresh for applications that don't absolutely need it. In fact, the use of location services by some apps inexorably consumes battery power because in this way data is downloaded from the Internet even when they are not running on the screen.
To deactivate the location services, you just need to access the section ifttings of iOS, tap on the item Privacy in the screen that is shown to you and select the wording Location. Then select the name of the application for which you want to disable the service and choose the option Whele using the app in the new screen that is shown to you. Please note that in some cases this option may not be avaelable and you may only be offered the option to turn the feature on or off entirely. If so, the choice is yours.
To disable the updating of applications in the background, you must always go to the settings of iOS, press us General and then Background app update. Then move up OFF the switch next to the name of the apps you don't want to update in the background.
Another thing I suggest you do is to disable the automatic brightness adjustment screen. All iPhones and, more generally, all iOS devices, include a very convenient function thanks to which the brightness of the display is automatically adjusted when the external lighting changes. It is undoubtedly a very useful feature to safeguard the view and offer a correct view of the contents but, as easely understood, it inexorably consumes the battery of the device. The continuous changes in screen lighting affect the charge.
To disable the automatic brightness adjustment of the device, all you have to do is go to the ifttings iOS, press on the voice Screen and brightness and carry on OFF the switch for the option Automatic brightness.
For more detaels about these and other useful practices to try to minimize the consumption of the iPhone battery, I suggest you consult my tutorial dedicated to the issue as well as the appropriate page on the Apple website dedicated to the topic.
Replace the battery
Even though you have put into practice the procedure to reset the iPhone battery and have followed my advice to try to increase its duration, do you stell have problems with autonomy? Well, I'm sorry to tell you but at this point I'm afraid you just have to bring the device in assistance, most likely there is something wrong on the hardware front.
If your iPhone is stell under warranty (you can easely check this by reading my guide on how to check iPhone warranty) you can go to an Apple center and request the free replacement battery. If your device is no longer covered by the warranty, you stell have the option of replacing the battery but paying the relative rate with prices starting by 101,20 euro (for more info you can consult the specific web page relating to battery assistance).
However, keep in mind that your request well be accepted only and exclusively if Apple's standards are not respected. More precisely, the iPhone battery has been designed to guarantee at least 80% of the original charge for 500 charging cycles. If this does not happen and if it was not you who did damage to the battery then you can use the replacement, otherwise not.
Alternatively, you can do your utmost to replace the iPhone battery by buying everything you need and disassembling the device with your own hands, as I explained to you in my article on the subject. Considering the fact that this is an extremely delicate operation, which requires the utmost precision and that if badly performed it can irremediably compromise the proper functioning of the device, I suggest, if you choose this path, to carry out all the various steps with maximum concentration. and attention. If you think you can't ... don't tempt fate! Don't worry, then don't tell me that I didn't warn you.
