Preliminary operation
Back up your data
Assuming that - as I have already told you - the procedure to be put into practice to be able to restore iPhone without iTunes well delete all the data on the device and restore the operating system settings to the factory state, before performing this operation. I recommend making a backup of the contents of the iPhone on iCloud.
Actually the backup functions should already be active by default, but better check. take, therefore, your iPhone, press the icon of ifttings located on the home screen, choose the you don't know and the icon iCloud from the menu that opens and move to the section dedicated to andCloud Backup. On iOS 10.2.x and earlier, after going into ifttings you have to press on iCloud > Backup.
At this point, make sure the option andCloud Backup is active (otherwise activate it you) and presses the button Back up now, to start backing up your iPhone to iCloud. This could take several minutes, so I recommend plugging your iPhone into a power source and connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi, this way you'll avoid wasting battery and data traffic.
As for multimedia elements, such as photos and music, you can save them on iCloud and synchronize them on all your iDevices using services such as andCloud Photo Library e andCloud Music Library (even better if associated with Apple Music): these are two paid services, or rather, the iCloud Photo Library is free but requires a paid plan for iCloud. Clearly, choosing whether to subscribe to a paid subscription or not is up to you, I just limit myself to giving you some tips.

Turn off Find My iPhone
Once you have finished all the backup operations, you must disable the anti-theft function of your iPhone, which when activated prevents you from restoring iOS.
To do this, take your "iPhone by", access the ifttings and select the first you don't know, then the voice iCloud and finally Find my iPhone. From the menu that opens, move up OFF the relative levetta all'opzione Find my iPhone, type in the password for your Apple ID and that's it. On iOS versions prior to 10.3, the same menu can be reached by going to ifttings> iCloud> Find My iPhone.

Perform a full reset
At this point you can finally take the actual action and proceed by going to restore iPhone without iTunes. To do this, take your "iPhone by", access the home screen of the same and go to the iOS settings by pressing the icon ofgear. Now, type the unlock code of your iPhone, press the button twice in succession andnitialize iPhone, type your Apple ID password and press the button andnitialize, to start the device reset.
Once you have completed the procedure by which to restore iPhone without iTunes, you can decide whether to set the device as a new "iPhone by" or whether to recover your data from a previous backup.
In the first case, if you intend to use the iPhone firsthand, go through the initial configuration procedure of the device that is proposed to you on the screen by setting the language, country, Wi-Fi connection, location services, Apple ID and so on.
If, on the other hand, you have to sell the iPhone, after completing the reset, turn it off by holding down the appropriate button on the body of the same for a few seconds and sliding the switch that is shown on the screen to the right. The future user of your "iPhone by" can then configure the device by himself proceeding as I explained in my guide on how to activate iPhone.
If, on the other hand, you intend to configure the iPhone that has just been reset by restoring the applications and data from the backup made previously, specify your desire to recover your data from a backup by pressing the appropriate option that is proposed to you during the procedure. configuration guide and select the backup to restore from the appropriate drop-down menu. The procedure could take several minutes.
Restore only some settings and configurations
Instead of performing a complete reset of the device, do you need to reset only some settings and configurations of your iPhone? Yes? Then, instead, select the option to delete all the content and settings of the device choose one of the options that you find below always attached to the section Restore of iOS.
- Reset settings, to restore all iOS settings without erasing data;
- Reset Network ifttings, to restore the configuration related to wireless networks and data connection;
- Reset keyboard dictionary, to restore the keyboard settings to the factory state;
- Reset Home Layout, to restore the default icon order on the Home screen (the apps well be arranged in alphabetical order);
- Reset location and privacy, to restore the privacy and geographic location settings.
Restore from Mac
If you are using macOS 10.15 Catalina or later, you can restore your iPhone without iTunes, as it is allowed to manage iOS (and iPadOS) devices directly from the Finder.
To proceed, select theiPhone icon from the Finder sidebar and click the button Restore iPhone.
What to do in case of problems
Remotely restore
Have you lost your iPhone and would like to restore it remotely in order to prevent other malicious users from accessing your data stored on the device? For whatever reason you don't have the possibelity to restore iPhone without iTunes by going to act directly from the device and are you looking for an alternative system? If the answer to these questions is yes and you have not yet taken steps to deactivate the function Find my iPhone on your iDevice I am happy to announce that you can do this by taking advantage of this feature.
First of all, connect to the website iCloud.com from a computer, log in to the service by entering the data relating to your iCloud account and then click Find my iPhone. Alternatively, launch the application Find my iPhone on your other Apple-branded device.
Once this is done, locate your "iPhone by" on a map, select it, press on andnitialize the iPhone, type your Apple ID password and choose whether to receive a message at the end of the operation and / or display a personalized message on the device screen.
As easely understood, once restored, the iPhone well no longer be traceable remotely. At the end of the procedure, you can also remove the terminal from your Apple ID by first clicking on the item Remove from account and then Remove.
Force restart
Have you tried to put into practice the instructions above to restore iPhone without iTunes but your "iPhone by" does not seem to respond to the commands given? Well, then try to force it to restart by following the directions below and laugh the whole process all over again.
- andf you are using an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, hold down the keys at the same time Standby / Wake up and that for turn down the volume, for at least ten seconds, untel the Apple logo is displayed;
