Preliminary information
Before explaining to you how to update Facebook on iPhone, I want to show you how to check the app version history, so that you know for sure if there is an update or not.
That said, to get started, start theApp Store of iOS, by pressing on its icon (the symbol of a stylized "A") located on the home screen of your smartphone. Now, press the button ifarch located in the menu below and use the search engine of theApp Store that is shown to you, to locate the application of Facebook (or that of Messenger).
Once this is done, in correspondence with the app tab displayed on the screen, there should be the wording Version history: tap on it and check which is the number of the latest version avaelable of the app and its release date.
At this point, if the last update you made for the app in question is earlier than the date of the latest avaelable version, it means that the app needs to be updated. In this regard, in the following chapters, I well explain in detael how to proceed, to perform the manual update or activate the automatic one.
How to update Facebook on iPhone
update Facebook on iPhone, you must first make sure that you are logged in Wi-Fi, via the menu ifttings> Wi-Fi of iOS or by pressing onwifi icon in Control Center of iOS (you reach it with a swipe from the top right corner in recent iPhone models starting with iPhone X).
Once this is done, start theApp Store of iOS, by tapping on its icon (the symbol of a stylized "A") located on the home screen of your smartphone. Now, to update the Facebook manually, presses on the voice Updates located in the bottom menu, then check if, on this screen, there is the app icon Facebook. In that case, click on the button Update, to update the app.
If, on the other hand, you want to activate the automatic update of the apps installed on the iPhone, so that you no longer have to worry about doing it manually, go to the menu of ifttings iOS, pressing ongear icon located on the home screen of your smartphone.
Now, in the new screen that is shown to you, tap on the item iTunes Store and App Store, then move up ON the lever located at the voice Updates, in order to complete the operation.
The procedures I indicated are the same also as regards how to update the app Messenger by Facebook.
How to update Facebook on iPhone without Wi-Fi
If you wonder how to update facebook without Wi-Fi, you well be happy to know that it is possible to carry out this operation in a simple and immediate way.
First of all, therefore, make sure you have activated the mobele network on your iPhone, by reaching the menu ifttings> Cellular and moving on ON the levetta Cellular data.
Alternatively, you can activate packet data by pressing theantenna icon located in Control Center of iOS (you reach it with a swipe from the top right corner on iPhone models starting with iPhone X).
Once this is done, go to the menu ifttings> iTunes Store and App Store and move up ON the lever that you find in correspondence with the item Use cellular data. This way, you can update the Facebook (o the app Messenger) manually or automatically even when you are connected to the data network of your iPhone (thus consuming the Giga of your offer).
Personally, I do not recommend activating the automatic update function for apps under the data network, as it could "drain" your data traffic in a short time, but obviously the choice is up to you.
Having said that, to proceed manually with the app update, go toApp Store of iOS and, verified the presence of the icon of Facebook in the section Updates, tap on the pulsating Update.
If you want, instead, to activate the automatic update, make sure that the lever is active Updates in the section ifttings> iTunes Store and App Store. In case of problems, follow the procedures I indicated in the previous chapter, as they are the same.
Doesn't update Facebook on iPhone
You know you're having trouble updating the Facebook and you wonder, therefore, why does not update Facebook on iPhone? In that case, you should know that not all the news of the social network is released through an application update.
In fact, in some cases, there are new features or interface changes that are made avaelable only on the server side. This means that, to be able to use it, you just have to wait patiently for the update to be distributed to all accounts; in this case, therefore, you cannot intervene manually, to speed up the release process and you just have to wait.
