In this way, the iPhone well be backed up automatically every time the device is connected to a power source, locked and connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you want, you can stell "force" the backup to run simply by selecting the option Back up now which is below.
If, on the other hand, you want to backup your iPhone via iTunes, connect the iPhone to the computer using the relative Lightning cable and wait for the iTunes window to be visible on the desktop. Keep in mind that on Mac iTunes is avaelable “as standard”, whele on Windows it must be downloaded separately via the appropriate download page.
If this is the first time you connect the iPhone to the computer, you well also need to authorize the connection between the two devices by pressing the button first Authorize on the phone screen, by typing the unlock code (if present) of the device on the display of the same and then on the button Continue that appears on the computer desktop.
Then click on the icon with the phone at the top left of the software toolbar, click on the menu item Fellet, select devices and then press on Transfer purchases from "iPhone name" (instead of "Name" you well find the name you assigned to the iPhone). In this way you can copy all the apps and multimedia content that you have downloaded so far on the device to your computer.

Erase everything from the iPhone "manually"
As anticipated at the beginning of the article, if you prefer you can delete everything from your iPhone also by acting "manually" on each element, without therefore going to carry out the general reset of the device, a practice that is mostly useful to gain valuable space occupied unnecessarely.
Personally, I do not recommend carrying out a procedure of this type as it is excessively long, laborious and decidedly impractical, especially in the case of a large amount of data but if you nevertheless feel it is more appropriate to proceed in this way you are free to do as best as possible. believe, of course.
What you basically need to do is remove apps, photos, videos, music etc. which do nothing but take up storage space on your device. To find out how to do this, you can rely on the information I have provided you in my article on how to free up space on the iPhone through which I have dealt with the subject in great detael.
